At Boursorama, now BoursoBank, brokerage fees depend mainly on three parameters: the chosen package, the order amount and the market you invest in. To avoid paying too much, it is better to look at the actual cost your usual orders rather than the price displayed "from".
Boursorama packages to compare before placing an order
The fee schedule is based on four main offers, Discovery, Classic, Trader and Ultimate Trader. Each aims at a different profile, from the occasional small investor to the very active user. Custody fees are usually a strong feature of the offer, but the monthly subscription can become a actual cost if you do not meet the expected conditions of activity.

| Package | Price on order | Most suitable profile | Point of vigilance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery | 1.99 € up to 500 €, then 0.60% beyond 500 € | Beginner, small punctual orders | Becomes less interesting as orders grow |
| Classic | 5.50 € up to 1 000 €, then 0.48 per cent above 1 000 € with minimum 8,95 € | Regular investor on intermediate amounts | Minimum of 8.95 € relies heavily on orders close to the threshold |
| Trader | 16.65 € up to 7,750 €, then 0.22 per cent above 7,750 € | Active investor with higher orders | Not relevant for small orders |
| Ultimate Trader | 9,90 € up to 10 000 €, then 0.12% above 10,000 € | Very active, large volumes | Subscription of 119 € if less than 30 orders per month |
Discovery and Classic: useful if your orders remain modest
The Discovery offer is often the most readable to start with: 1,99 € up to 500 €, then 0.60% above. It is well suited to investors who buy gradually, by small lines. On the other hand, on an order of 2,000 €, the percentage weighs more and the advantage of the fixed rate quickly disappears.
Classic takes over for more important orders: 5.50 € up to 1 000 €, then 0.48% above with a minimum of 8.95 €. This minimum sometimes avoids bad surprises in the calculation, but it can also make the package less competitive for orders only a little over 1,000 €. It is therefore an offer to look closely if your purchases are often in this area.
Trader and Ultimate Trader: rates designed for activity
Trader bill 16.65 € up to 7,750 €, then 0.22% above. It becomes consistent when your orders are high enough to cushion this entry ticket. Ultimate Trader is more aggressive on large sizes, with 9,90 € up to 10 000 €, then 0.12% beyond, but it imposes an activity discipline: if you spend less than 30 orders per month, the subscription can reach 119 €. The gain on the big orders is therefore of interest only if your pace follows.
Examples of calculation: what your orders really cost
Compare Boursorama brokerage fees only from percentages is misleading. The right reflex is to take three or four amounts representative of your practice, for example 400 €, 1,500 €, 8,000 € and 12,000 €. Then you immediately see which package corresponds to your actual use, without being guided by a theoretical price.

| Amount of order | Discovery | Classic | Trader | Ultimate Trader |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 400 € | 1,99 € | 5,50 € | 16,65 € | 9,90 € |
| 1 500 € | 9,00 € | 8.95 € minimum | 16,65 € | 9,90 € |
| 8 000 € | 48,00 € | 38,40 € | 17,60 € | 9,90 € |
| 12 000 € | 72,00 € | 57,60 € | 26,40 € | 14,40 € |
These examples show a simple logic: Discovery dominates on small orders, Classic can be balanced on medium amounts, while Trader and Ultimate Trader take advantage when orders become high. The trick is to choose a more advanced package while your portfolio does not yet generate the necessary volumes. In this case, you pay mostly for a rate structure that is not yet in use.
Think of your investment journey as a corridor: it is not only the entry point that counts, but the width of the passage between your minimum and maximum orders. If you sometimes buy 300 € and sometimes 9 000 € you cross two very different tariff zones. The challenge is not to find the perfect package for a single order, but the one that limits friction over your entire annual circulation, frequency, average size, peak investment and periods of inactivity.
PEA, SRD, foreign markets: the costs to remember
The basic brokerage rate does not summarize everything. Depending on the envelope used or the type of operation, specific rules are added. This is particularly important if you invest through a PEA, use the SRD or buy securities outside Euronext. These cases can change the final cost even if the departure package seems attractive.
PEA and PEA-SMEs: a useful cap
In PEA, brokerage fees are capped at 0.5% of the total order amount. This ceiling protects the investor on small orders and makes the comparison a little different from that of an ordinary securities account. It does not exempt from checking the applicable grid, but sets a clear limit on the maximum cost of execution. For a modest order, it is often this ceiling that makes the difference.
For an investor who is gradually building his PEA with regular payments, this ceiling is an element to be incorporated in the choice of the purchasing pace. Grouping several very small orders can sometimes be more effective, provided that it does not degrade its investment strategy. Good arbitration remains the one that keeps the long-term course.
DTH: the cost of the delay
The Different Settlement Service allows the purchase or sale of certain securities with settlement at the end of the stock exchange month. This flexibility has a price: the DTH fee shown is 0.0233% per day, with an extension fee of 0.3588%, minimum 11.95 €. These amounts may seem small in isolation, but they accumulate if the position lasts or is carried forward.
DTH should therefore be reserved for investors who include leverage, market risk and shipping costs. For a classic long-term purchase, it is often easier to avoid this mechanics and pay cash. The delay is convenient, but it is not neutral.
Foreign markets, TTF and Boursomarkets
Foreign markets may charge costs different from those observed on Euronext. Before purchasing a US, German or Dutch stock, check the listing place, currency, any exchange charges and the specific pricing of the area concerned. The same order can therefore cost more depending on the market chosen.
The Financial Transactions Tax may also be added to certain eligible securities. Its rate is 0.4% from 01/04/2025. It does not pay the broker: it is a tax that increases the total cost of the purchase when the transaction falls within its scope. It must be integrated into the calculation, especially if you invest in the securities concerned.
Boursomarkets has a separate operation, with 45,000 products accessible and a specific pricing that can display 0% brokerage fees on the products concerned. The offer may be interesting, but it must be read as a specific product world, not as a general free offer on the entire stock exchange.
Choose the right package according to your investor profile
The best package is not necessarily the cheapest on a line in the table. It is the one that corresponds to your frequency of orders, your usual amounts and your tolerance to fixed costs. In other words, the right choice depends on how you invest, not on an isolated rate.
- You start with small amounts: Discovery is usually the most consistent starting point, especially for orders below or near 500 €.
- You regularly invest around 1,000 to 3,000 € : Classic deserves to be compared, thanks in particular to its balance between fixed package and percentage.
- You make high orders: Trader can significantly reduce the unit cost beyond several thousand euro.
- You are very active: Ultimate Trader becomes powerful on big orders, but the requirement of the 30 monthly orders must remain realistic.
Another often underestimated point concerns the monthly subscription. Inactivity may result in 5.95 € according to the offer concerned, and Ultimate Trader provides 119 € if the activity threshold is not reached. Before you change your formula, look at your last twelve months of order rather than your intention of the moment. This year-long reading gives a much more accurate picture of your Boursorama brokerage fees.
Reducing costs without undermining strategy
Optimizing your fees does not mean multiplying arbitrations to "stabilize" a package. On the contrary, too much order can increase the risk of error and degrade performance. The aim is to reduce unnecessary costs while maintaining a stable investment method. The right approach is to make it simple and then refine only if the savings are real.
- Calculate your average order: add your year orders and divide by their number to identify the package closest to your actual use.
- Avoid repeated micro-orders: several small purchases can cost more than a bundled order, especially excluding PEA.
- Watch for inactivity: If your plan provides for a subscription in the absence of orders, include it at the total annual cost.
- Check the rating space: The same security may exist in several markets, with different fees and currencies.
- Consult the brochure before decision: applicable tariffs and detailed conditions must always be verified in the official documentation BoursoBank.
Finally, if your business changes, consider checking in your customer area the terms and conditions of the package change. An investor who moves from a few orders per quarter to several orders per week no longer has the same rate profile. Conversely, keeping an active formula for a calm period can turn an advantage into an unnecessary fixed cost. The right setting is the one that follows your real pace, not the one you had in mind at the beginning.
