To buy Amazon shares, you must open an account with a broker offering the title AMZN, rated at NASDAQ, deposit funds and then issue a purchase order. From France, direct purchase is via a securities account, not an AEP. Before validating, check the nature of the product: an action, a fraction of action and a CFD do not give the same rights or risks.
Choose the account and product before choosing the application
The Amazon action is not eligible for the AEP. The ordinary securities account is therefore the usual envelope to directly hold this American title. Compare accessible intermediaries in your country of residence, their legal entity and their authorization to offer their services. A pleasant interface is not enough to assess the quality of a broker.
Cash, fraction or CFD: three different exposures
Buying a cash share amounts to acquiring a security held in accordance with the broker's retention terms. Without borrowing or leverage, the loss can reach the capital invested. A CFD is a contract for the variation of the price: you do not own Amazon action. The leverage amplifies gains such as losses, and financing costs can be added if the position remains open.

Move from open to first order AMZN
The route is generally similar from one broker to another. Prepare the required supporting documentation and take the time to verify the information displayed before each validation.
- Open the account by informing your identity, your tax residence and the required regulatory information.
- Perform identity check, often called KYC, with the required documents.
- Deposit funds by an accepted means. Control time and costs; A bank transfer may be offered according to the intermediary.
- Search Amazon or AMZN, then check the issuer's name, trading space, currency and product type.
- Enter the quantity or amount, choose the order and reread the fee summary.
- Control execution in history: a transmitted order is not necessarily executed.
Market order or limit order: arbitrating between speed and price
One order to the market prefers execution at the available price. The last price displayed is not a guaranteed price: the market can evolve between consultation and purchase. Also check whether the quotation is in real time or delayed and whether the relevant market is open.
One limit order sets the maximum price accepted upon purchase. It may be executed at this price or at a lower price, but may remain partially or totally unexecuted if conditions are not met. Check its validity period and any restrictions on split purchases.
Calculate the actual cost, in euros and after fees
The brokerage commission is only one component of the cost. Also examine the spread, difference between purchase and sale prices, conversion, custody, inactivity, withdrawal or transfer costs where they exist. For regular small purchases, a fixed cost may be more proportionate to the amount invested.

To compare two offers, use the same scenario: same amount invested, same frequency and same market. Add the purchase costs and then estimate those of a future sale. An offer submitted as « without commission » may involve other costs.
Amazon's benchmark at NASDAQ is in dollars. For an investor in euros, exchange rate influences yield : an increase in the security can be mitigated by a fall in the dollar. A negotiation in euro does not automatically eliminate this economic exposure.
On the tax side, distinguish between realized gains and dividends, if any. The obligations depend in particular on your tax residence, the applicable rules and the location of the account. Check whether the broker provides a summary that can be used for your return and whether an account held abroad is required to be reported. Do not assume that the application performs all the steps.
Evaluate Amazon without confusing solid business with cheap action
Electronic commerce, cloud services Amazon Web Services (AWS)advertising and services associated with Prime are activities to be examined. Prime Video participates in this ecosystem. Artificial intelligence is also an opportunity for cloud infrastructure, but it requires investments that must be monitored for profitability.
Analyze turnover, margins, net income and cash flows. The profit per share (BPA) returns the profit to the number of shares; on PER puts the course against this benefit. The EBITDA/LEV provides further insight into recovery. Always compare consistent periods and distinguish published results and estimates.
As a historical landmark, Café de la Bourse presents a PNR of 28.7 versus 19.4 for its sectoral reference, and an EV/EBITDA of 15.96 versus 11.27. These differences illustrate a valuation premium, not a current measure or an automatic sales signal. A company can progress while its action declines if expectations are higher.
The foundation of your decision must be the entire portfolio: if you already hold a fund exposed to large American companies, you may have Amazon indirectly. Buying AMZN in addition then strengthens an existing exposure rather than diversification. Check this overlay before setting your budget.
Finally, do not assign an analyst's objective or graphic level to a guarantee. Check dated data, check the dividend policy in recent Amazon communications and set your horizon. Do not invest the savings necessary for your close spending. Buying gradually can distribute entry points, but does not protect against a lasting decline.
